Director of Public Works

Ron Long, P.E.

Mission Statement

The primary mission of the Camp Verde Public Works Department is to provide and maintain, within the Town’s available resources, adequate and safe transportation infrastructure in a fair and equitable manner; while supporting the Town’s economic agenda.  The department provides engineering services and reviews and inspects public projects for the Town.  Furthermore, we are striving to develop and maintain efficient storm water facilities and educate the citizens to minimize the impact of storm events and decrease pollution of waterways.

Welcome

Welcome to the Town of Camp Verde Public Works Department.  Public Works consists of four major functional divisions which include Engineering, Streets, Storm Water, and Parks and Recreation.

The Town Engineer is responsible for the planning of public works infrastructure and assures compliance with Town standards and code requirements for off-site construction.

The Streets Department provides for the care, repair, and maintenance of all Town-owned streets, alleys, curbs, gutters, sidewalks & drainage structures.

Goals

Currently the Town of Camp Verde does not own or operate local utilities. Future growth of the Department will likely include the additional responsibilities of utilities management for the sewer system and water company; expanding our staff to include divisions for Storm Water Prevention, Utilities and Engineering.

05/02/12 – The Town of Camp Verde was recently awarded two grants:

  • The Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), provides funding of $75,000 for the procurement of High Intensity Prism (HIP) regulatory, warning and street signs. This grant will allow the Town to begin meeting the retroreflectivity requirements mandated by the FHWA.
  • Planning Assistance for Rural Areas (PARA), provides funding for a study to identify potential solutions to traffic flows at the intersection of Main, Finnie Flat and Montezuma Castle and at SR 260 and Goswick Way
