A Volunteer is. . .
Who Can Volunteer
Anyone! Prospective volunteers can expect the same hiring procedures and standards as apply to employees; including interviews, reference and record checks, and acceptance on a non-discriminatory basis.
Currently the Town of Camp Verde Marshal’s Office offers volunteer opportunities for the Citizens on Patrol Program. After completing a 40-hour training course, volunteers can assist with the Citizens on Patrol program, handicapped parking violation enforcement, records and front desk assistance, dispatch, property and evidence, and traffic control. If you are interested, please stop by and visit with Sergeant Ralph O’Donnal at the Marshal’s Office located at 646 S. 1st Street in Camp Verde or call (928) 567-6621 today!
Fort Verde State Park is in need of volunteers to assist with basic operations of the park, including: greeting visitors, taking entry fees, discussing the history of the Fort and selling gift shop items. Volunteers can also assist with maintenance projects, grounds keeping and historical reenactment. The Fort was slated to close this past year due to State budget cuts, conversely the Town of Camp Verde partnered with State Parks through an Inter-governmental agreement to fund the continued operation of the Fort. However, with only one full-time State employee at the Fort, the Town and Fort are reliant on committed volunteer participation. If you are interested in volunteering your time at Fort Verde State Park, please contact Sheila Stubler at (928) 567-3275 or Valerie House at (928) 567-0535, extension 135.
The Town Clerk’s Office is in charge of accepting “Letters of Interest” for volunteers willing to serve on Boards, Commissions or Committees for the Town of Camp Verde. When a Board/Commission/Committee member’s term expires or they resign, a position becomes available. An applicant must be qualified by experience and training and may not be employees of the jurisdiction. Successful applicants will act in an advisory capacity to the Town Council.
A detailed list of the duties and responsibilities can be found by clicking here.
Interested parties may obtain the letter of interest form by clicking here or pick up a letter of interest form at Town Hall, located at 473 S. Main Street, Room 102.
