2026 Election  Information

New Primary Election Date: Effective February 6, 2026,  H.B. 2022, was signed by the Governor, which means the Primary Election Date has officially been moved from August 4, 2026 to July 21, 2026.

Notice is hereby given that the Town of Camp Verde will hold a Primary Election for the following:

• 1 Mayor (2-year term);
• 3 Council Seats (4-year terms); and
• Prop 498: Town of Camp Verde 2026 General Plan

The election dates and other information are as follows:

This Election will be held in conjunction with Yavapai County and polling places will be determined by the County. The polls are open on Election day from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information, call the Clerk’s Office at 928-554-0021.

Candidate Filing: Candidate filing begins on Monday, February 23rd and the new filing deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026.

Three Council Member seats will be filled in 2026 to serve four-year terms; one Mayor seat to serve a two-year term. Traditionally new council members are elected at the Primary Election. Newly elected officials will assume the duties of the office and be sworn in at the first regularly scheduled Town Council Meeting following the date of the General Election. DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTAL OF PRO AND CON ARGUMENTS

Supporting and opposing arguments to be printed in the Publicity Pamphlet for Town of Camp Verde Primary Election are due in writing no sooner than Wednesday, March 18, 2026 and no later than Wednesday April 22, 2026 by 5:00p.m.

Town of Camp Verde 2026 General Plan - Proposition 498 / Resolution No. 2026-1205

OFFICIAL TITLE: RATIFICATION OF THE TOWN OF CAMP VERDE 2026 GENERAL PLAN PROPOSED BY THE CAMP VERDE TOWN COUNCIL REFERRED TO VOTERS BY RESOLUTION 2026-1205 PURSUANT TO A.R.S. § 9-461.06(M).

DESCRIPTIVE TITLE: Proposal to the voters for ratification of the Town of Camp Verde 2026 General Plan, as adopted by the Town Council on March 11, 2026. The General Plan is a statement of land development policies that sets forth objectives, principles, and standards for future growth and development.

A ‘YES’ vote shall have the effect of approving the Town of Camp Verde 2026 General Plan as adopted by the Camp Verde Mayor and Council, and it shall become effective as provided by law.

A ‘NO’ vote will have the effect of not approving the Town of Camp Verde 2026 General Plan, and the current Town of Camp Verde 2016 General Plan will remain in effect until a new plan is approved by the voters at a future election.

Arguments may not exceed 300 words in length and must contain the original signature of each person sponsoring it. If sponsored by an organization, it shall be signed by two executive officers thereof. If sponsored by a political committee, the argument shall be signed by the Committee’s Chairperson or Treasurer. The address and phone number of each signer must be on the argument but will not be printed in the Publicity Pamphlet.

Per Resolution 2023-1110 a payment of $200 per argument is required to offset a portion of the cost of paper and printing the Publicity Pamphlet.

There are three (3) seats with four year terms for Councilmember and one (1) seat for Mayor with a two year term on the August 2, 2002 ballot. 2020 Election Information

The next primary election is scheduled for August 4, 2020 and the general election is scheduled for November 3, 2020.

Candidate packets are now available. There will be the Mayor and three Council Members seats open for election. The term of the Mayor is 2 years and the Council Members are 4-year terms.

A candidate for local office must be a qualified elector at the time of election. Any such candidate, in addition to other requirements, must be 18 years of age or more on or before the date of election, must have resided in the town limits for one year preceding the election, and restored civil rights if having been convicted of a felony.
