Camp Verde Parks & Recreation began the process of developing a Parks, Recreation, Trails, and Open Space Master Plan in late 2024. The project was put out for a Request for Proposal at that time. Proposals were reviewed and the project was awarded to Kimley-Horn in March of 2025. Kimley-Horn worked with staff to develop a website and create a comprehensive plan to gather public input and feedback. The Envision Camp Verde website was created as one of the methods for community input.
Kimley-Horn also attended a kick-off event, community workshops, key stakeholder meetings, and a variety of other community events to allow for public feedback. They also incorporated the newly approved Camp Verde General Plan, the 5-year CIP project list, along with many other Town documents to ensure they had a full picture of what Camp Verde wants for the future. This process took several months and we are now in the final stages of this process. Staff and the Parks & Recreation Commission are currently reviewing the initial draft and the revision process is expected to take a month or so. The schedule at this time should put the final plan in front of Council for approval at the end of October 2026. Stay tuned for updates and the final document once approved by Council.
