What It Is
The Verde Valley Housing Plan Library is part of a pre-approved housing design program implemented by the Town in collaboration with other Verde Valley jurisdictions. The library will provide a collection of pre-approved housing designs designed to accelerate the process from design to Certificate of Occupancy, saving time, streamlining permitting, and reducing development costs.
The library will be built out in phases and will include plans for accessory dwelling units (ADUs), single-family homes, duplexes, and triplexes, with a range of sizes and configurations. Phase 1 will include single-family homes and ADUs, while Phase 2 will include duplexes and triplexes.
For Applicants: Once you select a plan from the library, you will be directed to the architect or designer who created the plan to complete the licensing process. After the plan is licensed, it can be used for your specific site and submitted through the required site review and permitting process.
To retain its pre-approved status, the home must be built exactly as approved. Any changes to the approved design will require the project to go through the standard building permit process.
The Concept for Designers & How to Apply
For architects and designers, the library provides an opportunity to contribute high-quality, buildable housing designs that reflect the character and needs of the Verde Valley. Designers can submit plans through the program portal for review and consideration.
Once approved, designs will be added to the library, where applicants can explore available plans and connect directly with the architect or designer to license a plan. The program gives designers an opportunity to make their work available to a broader range of applicants while contributing to the region’s housing needs and expanding access to pre-approved housing options.
