About Camp Verde Weather and Monsoon Season – Weather Dangers are real!
In Camp Verde, summers are hot, winters are cold, and the weather is mostly clear year-round. Throughout the year, temperatures typically range from 37°F to 98°F and are rarely below 30°F or above 104°F. The hot season lasts about 3 ½ months, from June 1 to September 16, with daily high temperatures exceeding 90°F. July is the hottest month, with an average high of 97°F and low of 73°F. The cool season spans approximately 3.4 months, from November 21 to March 1, with daily highs below 66°F. December is the coldest month, averaging lows of 38°F and highs of 60°F.
Each year, a variety of weather-related dangers affect Camp Verde. With the onset of summer, a period of extreme heat is typically followed by an influx of moisture, leading to daily rounds of thunderstorms and lightning. The heat can be deadly, lightning can start wildfires, and the thunderstorms often strike suddenly and with violent force. The period from June 15th through September 30th is defined as "The Monsoon."
