Appearance Date: Civil Traffic

Civil Traffic Violations

You have just received a complaint for a traffic offense and are probably asking yourself “What do I do now?” If the charges are DUI, drag racing, reckless driving, or driving on a suspended license, you must come to Court on the Appearance Date and time listed on your complaint to appear before the Judge.

FOR ALL OTHER OFFENSES, you may:

1.         Pay the fine by mail before your appearance date. Click on the above bond schedule for sanction amounts and for a printable form for mailing, Option 3.   (You are pleading responsible or no contest to the charge on the complaint, and the case will be closed).

2.         Pay the fine by appearing at the traffic window at the Court between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on or before your APPEARANCE DATE listed on the complaint. Click on the above bond schedule for printable form for Option 3.

3.         Request a hearing by mail. For the instructions for setting a hearing, Click on the above bond schedule for a printable form for REQUESTING A HEARING, Option 2. (You are pleading not responsible to the charge on the complaint). YOU MAY ALSO REQUEST A HEARING BY APPEARING at the traffic window of the Court between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., on or before your APPEARANCE DATE listed on the complaint.

4.         Attend Defensive Driving School, if you are eligible.  For more information, Click on the bond schedule above, Option 1:

Failure to appear in court on the date listed on your citation, or failure to complete one of the above options listed, may result in a driver license suspension, and additional monetary costs being imposed

NO CONTINUANCES ARE GRANTED BY PHONE
