BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATIONS
A building permit is a license which grants legal permission to start construction of a building or other project within the incorporated area of the Town of Camp Verde. A zoning clearance grants legal permission to issue a building permit for construction based on information provided by the Planning & Zoning Ordinances of the Town. An installation permit is required in the incorporated area of the Town of Camp Verde for the placement of Factory Built Buildings, Manufactured Homes, Mobile and Park Model Homes.
COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS
Applicant must receive Development Review approval for all commercial projects, prior to submitting application for construction.
Commercial Project
Including new construction, remodels and additions
Commercial Factory Built Building
The Town of Camp Verde has an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Arizona Department of Fire, Building and Life Safety Office of Manufactured Housing for installation and inspection of all commercial factory building buildings within the Town limits. Permanent foundation plans approved by the Arizona Department of Fire, Building and Life Safety are required upon submittal of an application for installation.
Tenant Improvement
Includes interior improvement for new or existing tenants and changes in occupancy. A separate permit is required for additions.
Grading Project
Any construction activity that impacts land of one acre or more is required by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) to submit for permit to discharge storm water generated during construction activities. In addition, the Town of Camp Verde will require a Notice of Intent (NOI) and Authorization Number issued by ADEQ, prior to permit issuance. Demolition
Applicants shall notify the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) ten (10) days prior to any demolition activity by submitting an Asbestos National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) notification form. Fire Suppression Systems
Including water tanks, hood exhaust systems, fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems.
RESIDENTIAL APPLICATIONS
Residential Project
Including, new construction, remodels, additions and accessory structures
Mobile/Manufactured, Park Model and Residential Factory Built Homes
The Town of Camp Verde has an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Arizona Department of Fire, Building and Life Safety Office of Manufactured Housing for installation and inspection of all mobile, manufactured and factory building units within the Town limits. Installation fees include three inspections: 1) Set/Utilities, 2) Final/CO and 3) Accessory building (as applicable, under the same contract). A Certificate of Occupancy will not be issued if skirting is not installed in accordance with state and local installation standards upon final inspection. Permanent foundation plans approved by the Arizona Department of Fire, Building and Life Safety are required upon submittal of an application for installation of all residential factory built/modular homes.
A fee will be assessed for additional inspections not otherwise covered under the permit and must be paid prior to inspection, in accordance with the current fee schedule.
Mobile Home Rehabilitation
In accordance with adopted ordinances of the Town of Camp Verde pre-1976 mobile home units are prohibited for installation other than in a manufactured/mobile home park. Any rehabilitation work is required to be completed at the unit’s current site, prior to installation within a manufactured/mobile home park. Rehabilitation permits include one inspection. The applicant may apply for an installation permit once a Certificate of Compliance and insignia have been issued for the rehabilitation.
A fee will be assessed for additional inspections not otherwise covered under the permit and must be paid prior to inspection, in accordance with the current fee schedule.
Miscellaneous Project
Including solar installations, pools and spas, retaining/block walls and block skirting
Zoning Clearance
Fences of six (6) feet or less, residential accessory structures under 200 square feet (shell only) and commercial accessory structures under 120 square feet (shell only) do not require a building permit but do require a zoning clearance to ensure requirements of the Planning & Zoning Ordinance are met.
