The Town of Camp Verde Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to providing quality recreational, educational, cultural, fitness, social and environmental opportunities that meets the diverse needs of our community.
The Parks & Recreation Department strives to provide fun, safe and affordable recreational programs and event opportunities to promote healthy lifestyles for all in our community.
The Department maintains and operates five public parks and a community center for our community and visitors to enjoy. Each park is equipped with BBQ grills and picnic areas that are wonderful for family outings. If you would like to reserve a park or community center facility, please visit the Parks & Recreation office to check availability or view the online calendars for each facility on the Facility Reservations and Rentals page.

CURRENT EVENTS AND PROGRAMS:
Fall Trip Program 2016
Join Camp Verde Parks & Rec. for fun filled trips on our 14 passenger shuttle bus! Leave from the Community Center Gym at 9:00 am & return at 4:00 pm unless otherwise noted. Must be 16 years old or have an accompanying adult. Explore the secrets of Arizona and relax with plenty of opportunity for you to spend the day the way you want.
Must pre-register for all trips
August 19 – Friday Tonto Natural Bridge and Pine-Strawberry Museum SOLD OUT
Enjoy and marvel at the Tonto Natural Bridge that has been in the making for thousands of years. Stand on top, hike below, or just enjoy the view and the historic lodge and gift shop. Then we are off to Pine to peruse the Pine-Strawberry Museum, and enjoy lunch. Adult & Senior $21, Child (0 – 17) $16
September 9 – Friday Zane Grey Cabin, Rim Country Museum & Downtown Payson
Visit the authentic replica cabin of Zane Grey, renowned author who penned over 60 novels, 300 short stories, 10 non-fiction Westerns, and 130 movies. His original cabin was built in the 1920’s, but was burned in the Dude Fire in 1990. The replica was built in 2003 in Green Valley Park. After the museum, you will be free to wander and enjoy downtown Payson, grab lunch or get in some shopping. Adult $15, Senior $14, Child $13
September 11 – Sunday Little Women at Yavapai College Performing Arts Center
Watch a classic performance of “Little Women” detailing the adventures of the March sisters during the American Civil War as their story comes to life through story and song. We will leave at 1:30 p.m. and return after the performance is over. Adult, Senior, Child $30
September 23 – Friday The Grand Canyon
Visit one of the 7 Wonders of The World in our own back yard. You will be able to catch a shuttle bus to visit various viewpoints along the South Rim including Hermit’s Rest, enjoy the visitor center, take a hike, grab a bite, or sit and take in the beauty on this trip. Leave at 8 a.m. and return at 5 p.m. Adult, Senior, & Child $22
October 7 – Friday Flagstaff Urban Hike and Snowbowl Skyride
Enjoy a scenic chair lift ride up the side of Humphrey’s Peak to 11,500 feet and experience the views and colorful fall leaves for miles around. Bring a lunch or order at Agassiz Lodge, then enjoy an easy hike around MacMillan Mesa in Flagstaff before heading back to Camp Verde. Adult $27, Senior $22, Child(6-12) $22, 5 & under $10
October 15 - Saturday NAU Football vs Idaho State (Homecoming Game)
Cheer on the NAU Lumberjacks in their Homecoming game and experience football in the Dome. Leave at 2:30 p.m. and return after the game is over. Adult, Senior, Child $35
October 21 – Friday Arizona State Fair Trip
Enjoy a trip to our own Arizona State Fair, no hassle driving or parking. We drop you at the gate at 12:00 and pick you up at 5 pm. Enjoy all of the fair festivities at your leisure. The cost for entry is $10 per adult and $5 for child & seniors 55+, which you will pay upon entry. The fee for this trip covers transportation only. Leave at 10:00 am Return at 7 pm
