Monday Governor Ducey announced additional guidelines for restaurants, barbers, and cosmetologists with Executive Order 2020-34. Barbers and cosmetologists can resume appointment-based services starting Friday, May 8, following CDC and ADHS guidelines on sanitation and safer practices. (Industry-specific state GUIDANCE). Dine-in establishments can resume dine-in services beginning Monday, May 11. (Industry-specific state GUIDANCE). Guidance specifically for bars will be available shortly. HERE is a thread of tweets that outlines the announcements from today.

Governor Ducey also issued Executive Order 2020-35 relating to long-term care facilities. This order requires notification to the next of kin for any resident who has tested positive, or been exposed to a COVID-positive individual and disclosure of any previous or active COVID-19 cases in the facility to any approved applicant from a prospective resident.

The news today is in addition to what the Governor announced last week regarding retail businesses via Executive Order 2020-33. To recap that announcement: retail businesses can begin resuming operations with curbside services (Industry-specific state GUIDANCE). Beginning Friday, May 8, retail businesses can resume operations if they abide by social distancing recommendations.
